3 Reasons to Hire a Real Estate Photographer, Part 3

Professional Photos Help Realtors Secure More Listings

In this third post of the series Top 3 Reasons to Hire a Real Estate Photographer, we’re going to be thinking outside the box a little. No more focusing on your current listing like we did with Part 1: Homes Sell Faster and Part 2: Homes Sell for More Money. Instead, we’re going to look at how professional real estate photography can help you build your brand as a real estate professional and secure you listing after listing as you impress one seller after another.

We’ve seen the power that high quality real estate photography can have on the sale of just one property, but what would happen if you incorporated that same philosophy of adding high quality photographs to each and every one of your listings? You would show potential sellers you care about their homes, regardless of size or price. You would show potential sellers you’re an excellent marketer who knows how to take advantage of the trends in the industry and knows exactly what buyers are looking for.

And you would show potential sellers you’re the right agent for them as you develop a brand that shows you’re one of the preeminent professionals in your area. Oftentimes, the first experience a seller will have with your brand is through the photographs in your listings—whether they see them online or via a mailer you’ve sent to their home.

What does a smartphone picture tell them in a world where everyone’s heard of interior decorating resources like Architectural Digest, Dwell, and Houzz?

Now who do you think a seller will choose as their listing agent—the guy who ran around the house taking his own snapshots with his cellphone or the agent who cared enough about her client to hire a professional?

And now you know the real reason why professional real estate photography is so important: it lets you build your personal brand and secure more clients in the future. Now if you’re fine just selling one or two homes a year, by all means, continue to do so. But if you’re the type of real estate professional who’s looking to make a really successful career, the type of agent, broker, or salesperson who is constantly looking forward to the next sale, to the next listing, or to secure the majority of the top dollar listings in your chosen city, you’re going to need a professional by your side.

Seller will of course choose the listing agent who cared enough to hire a professional photographer to do the job. Cell phone images can be as appealing as images taken by a professional using the right equipment and some agents just don’t seem to understand that.

I want to make sure that I get my home sold properly, but I’m not sure how to do it. It makes sense that taking the right pictures would be a good idea! That seems like a good way to ensure that I advertise my home well. It would be helpful for me to work with a professional.
